Take This Dove Out of My Hands is a meditation on kinship, using movement and the sonic textures of familiar surroundings as a language to claim space within the noise of the public realm. Filmed just outside the home shared by filmmaker Sarah Khan and movement artist Kaivalya Brewerton, the work unfolds in a site deeply tied to both—probing the limits of habitual gestures through an improvised performance. Technically, the film experiments with night vision, its structure and pacing mirroring the constraints we navigate daily—between labour and leisure, and in the chaos and fleetingness of the everyday. In this way, the film becomes a kind of smoke bomb: a sudden eruption that reveals the divinity hidden within the ordinary.
